Ontario Schreiner

Ontario Schreiner by Harry H Hudson

Trophy Buckle

The Ontario Schreiner Trophy buckle was designed by Harry H. Hudson, renowned collector of western memorabilia. It is hand fabricated from Solid Sterling Silver Gold and is hand engraved. This piece, with the Longhorn centered in the buckle, was named for Harry’s old friend Charlie Schreiner, of the Y-O Ranch, Mountain Home, Texas. Charlie did so much for the Longhorn Breed, and there is a ton of reading to support this. He actually drove a herd of Longhorn from the Y-O to Dodge City, Kansas. He was a true Texas gentleman and cowboy.

This buckle has a 1 1/2″ (38mm) opening.

About Harry H. Hudson

Harry H. Hudson is a collector and connoisseur of western buckles and an acknowledged authority on the history of western silversmiths and their work. His fascination with western buckles began with his boyhood in Texas and memories of a khaki-clad cowman whose only concession to conceit was the silver buckle that bore his cattle brand in gold. He successfully sold fine buckles, commissioned according to his own designs, at his Two Moons Trading Company in Dallas from 1984 to 2002.

Harry’s passion for perfection is reflected in the distinctive designs and exceptional craftsmanship seen in his buckle collection. Meticulous attention is given to every detail, from selection of highest-quality materials and mountings to the intricate hand-engraving and hand-overlaying. Hallmarks, including individual serial numbers, are hand-struck on each buckle in the classic tradition, attesting to the unique quality and  character of each piece.

Investing in a Harry H. Hudson buckle is a tip-of-the-hat to the deep character of American Western tradition.
