Tammy's husband is a fly fisherman, and she wanted something for him with that theme, but more subtle than some of Neil's earlier fly fishing buckles (see 2003 & 2004). This beautiful engraved ranger buckle set is Neil's Prairie style, which has a full 1¼" (32mm) opening and proportionate to the size of the set, the fly fishing theme is not the main element.

The fly fisherman and the trout are 24K gold raised inlay. The scroll-work is very fluid, fitting nicely with the water theme. The engraving doesn't have much darkened background, as Neil wanted the overall impression to be relatively light. An interesting design detail is the gold fishing line on the buckle, which creates a geometric design around the buckle-tongue.
