Neil engraved this solid sterling silver "Phoenix" pendant purely from his own inspiration. Many years ago he engraved a Phoenix on a money clip. This was one of my all-time favorite engravings that Neil ever did, and every so often, I asked if there was any way to make it into a pendant... I guess he got tired of me asking and made a new pendant.

The pendant is 5/64" (2 mm or 12 ga) thick, which is pretty heavy for a piece this size, so it is nicely weighted and hangs beautifully. The flames rising out of the dark, "lumpy" area around the sapphire - representing the ashes, are inlaid with 24K gold. Neil darkened some of the engraving, and then added some more bright-cut, giving the flames - and the Phoenix - depth and life. The Phoenix also has gold inlay in the beak and on the top of it's head.

The Phoenix is suspended from a horizontal wire that goes through a hole in the pendant. It is a beautiful, artistic pendant, and I feel very elegant when I wear it.
