The American bison has been an artistic obsession for Neil since his early days, working and playing in the Dakotas. This composition invokes the old Byrds' song: "To everything - turn, turn, turn. There is a season - turn, turn, turn..." The horns echo the waxing and waning moons. The upper corners are decorated with Arabesque scrolls that were popular in 19th century Europe and the lower portion is grounded with the dark background of Germanic-American scrollwork that adorned many of the older American guns.

Your actual intaglio print will not have the NR Hunt Studio logo © watermark seen in the close-up photo.

"Bison Moon" is hand-pulled from a hand engraved steel plate and will be printed in a limited edition of 250. Actual size of printed image only is just shy of 4" x 2 1/4" (10cm x 5.7cm). Each print is available un-framed or matted and framed, and is conservation mounted. The frame size is 12 5/8" W x 11 1/8" H (32cm x 28.3cm).

Un-framed prints are mounted on acid-free foam-board protected by an acid-free plastic sleeve.
