Fusion - Geneva Belt Buckle shown on Straight Strap
Close-Up | Angled Close-Up
The classy, hand-crafted Fusion - Geneva belt buckle is part of Neil's Fusion Series for the obvious fusing of metals, but also for the more subtle fusion of East and West, classic and traditional, complex and elegant. Neil hand-crafted each of these buckles (and sets) from metal plate, bar, and wire - and each is uniquely sculpted. The Fusion - Geneva belt buckle is true wearable art, and makes a great gift for graduation, retirement, and more.
Neil has been experimenting with different kinds of Mokume-gane of late (winter-spring 2016). The Fusion - Geneva is an unusual belt buckle made from several metals; sterling silver, shakudo, and mokume-gane. Mokume-gane (Japanese for "wood grained metals") is a type of Japanese married metal made from diffusion bonded laminates often used in decorating swords, in this case consisting of sterling silver, shiubichi, and shakudo. Shibuichi and shakudo are Japanese alloys made for their interesting patinas.
The Fusion - Geneva is completely handcrafted, and literally made up on the spot. As the artist he is, Neil often entertains himself experimenting like this. It turned out to be a fun buckle, while still being conservative and showing individuality.
This simple and dressy buckle looks very nice on any straight strap, but is especially nice with black and various shades of chocolate and tan.
Please inquire about ordering a similar buckle. Neil will happily make a special version of it for you.
